Senior Retreat
I'll be perfectly honest, I did not know what to expect for Senior Retreat. I wasn't sure if we were going to bond or not. Our class is interesting because everyone does talk to one another but not personally. We hang out with the people we feel comfortable with. On the first day, we built dams with rocks, got to climb on a rock wall, do the high ropes course, and soar through the zip line. Everyone was having fun but we were split into different teams and felt as if we weren't bonding yet. The second day, we sadly didn't get to go swim in the lake because there was no lifeguard. We spent an hour waiting for one to come and eventually Anthony came and told us no lake today. Our class heard about the amazing bonding time all the other seniors got through the past years; but we weren't feeling it. I wasn't expecting us to bond at that point. The last night we were given encouragement letters from friends and family; not only that, we had a campfire time that we shared words of encouragement with each other as a class. People shared their struggles and pieces of advice on how we can keep bonding with one another and also how we can be leaders for the whole school. Everyone was basically crying during the whole time and then after we shared everything, we had a hug fest. Now I feel like my class is a family and I can help them with anything they need me to help them with. I hope that we can keep our family in check and be leaders of the school: Leaders above reproach.
